I am currently a cal poly pomona student as well. Civil engineer major. I was wondering if you would have any updates on our men's basketball recruiting class? Thanks.
I heard we sign two guards with some upside and a transfer from div 1. I think one of the guads is from washington suppose to be a good defender played on a championship team up there. The local kid is from cucamonga i think is a solid pg who has the chance to delevop into a good pg in the ccaa. Played in a good league againstetiwanda. I don't know who the div 1 transfer is. I don't have as much info as i use to since i am not a full time student anymore. I use to get info when i ran into people i know within the athletic office. During the season there are a couple of us who post about the team at slopomona.com. also a friend told me last night confirmed by the athletic office release today were playing duke in a exhibition game in nov.
According to my source the following are the projected 2010 Recruiting class for CPP Men's BBALL.
-Justin Long PG 5'10"(Rancho Cucamonga PG) -Byron Horton PG/SG 6'1" -Connor Gacek SG/F 6'3"(the washington kid your talking about) Terrence Drisdom G/F 6"4 -Deron Scott G/F 6'5"(Projected starting point guard who transferred from Xavier University of Lousiana) -Adam Malik G/F 6'8" -some Australlian Dude F/C 6'11
Some of the above players are not confirm however 4 of the 7 is a for sure. I've been trying to confirm the remaining projected signees. I heard the D1 transfer was from a local 4yr college. Let's keep each other up to date if we hear anything new. I'm excited for the upcoming season.
Nothing yet. I been looking throughought the internet for anything going on with the basketball team. I was actually on campus today, but did not run into anybody I know. Right now its tough for me to get any info since i dont know who is around. If i find something online will pass it along.
what do you think of the information I gave you earlier? do you think its legit? i tried my best to retrieve that information hopefully i'm accurate. =/
The info you gave me is legit. It would of took me forever to get those names. I check the bio of alot of the players and like what I see so far. I hope you are right about Derron Scott. I can see him as a good fit for the team. A player who could play multiple of position and with some experiences.
It's a little too late to tell you this information but if you went to www.saynoclassic.com (college summer league held at LA and Pomona) Our Men's bball team had our own squad and Deronn Scott played on our team. Everyone that plays on that team typically is going to be playing for Cal Poly which makes alot of sense (the whole building team chemistry). Also one of my buddies is Donnelle Booker's roommate and he also confirmed this fact. He's been a huge talk around the team thus far and they are excited to have him.

I heard about the summer league. I knew they had a team but i keep on forgetting to go to these games since i am usually busy working or on vacation during summer.
